Hadleigh United welcomed a young experienced side with Kevin Lisbie the most experienced player in the squad, this match played on what was probably the hottest day of the year attracted a crowd of 445. Hadleigh were missing six players from last weeks match due to holiday's & injury.
Hadleigh kicked-off and attacked from the start. Ipswich then forced the first corner of the match which was well dealt with by the Hadleigh efence.
Hadleigh's Mark Roper made a decisive blocking tackle to deny an Ipswich shot in at the expense of a corner,Jamie Griffiths ball into the area found Kevin Lisbie, with keeper Luke Whitwell clearing well from his header in.
Hadleigh then attacked with good passing play by Luke Read and Ben Deacon setting up Liam Jennings to fire in just wide of target.
Ipswich had a chance on 18 minutes when a free shot by Billy Clark was far too high, before a quickly taken Ipswich free nearly put Hadleigh's defence under some pressure but danger was scrambled cleared.
A Chris Dennett free kick into the area for Hadleigh was only parried clear by keeper Ian McLoughan, as Ipswich scrambled to clear the ball fell to Mark Roper who's shot in was too high.
Hadleigh took the lead on 24 minutes. when a break down the right saw Luke Read's cross from the right flank found Chris Dennett unmarked on the left, his powerful screaming shot from 25 yards flew in past the diving Ian McLoughan. ( even Ipswich manager Roy Keane was seen applauding this wonderful goal !!! )
Ipswich looked for a quick reply with Kevin Lisbie and Dave Cawley linking together with Hadleigh's defence having to scramble clear.
Minutes later another screaming Chris Dennett shot in from 35 yards was leared by the Ipswich defence, at the other end Kevin Lisbie fired well over.
Hadleigh won a corner, with Luke Read's ball in finding Mark Roper, his neat pass found Ben Deacon on the right of the area who fired in an angled shot which skimmed the far post.
Ipswich levelled on 39 minutes when Hadleigh's defence were caught square with David Cawley firing in past the advancing Luke Whitwell.
On the stroke of half time Billy Clark fired in too high from an Ipswich free kick on the edge of the area

Ipswich had an early chance when Dave Cawley headed in by Luke Whitwell saved well, at the other end Hadleigh's Ollie Canfer burst through but was denied with a blocking challenge.
Hadleigh's Simon Hyde made a great tackle to deny Reggie Lamb a shot on target for Ipswich.
Hadleigh made changes along with Ipswich to give all the players a " run out ", Ipswich making 9 changes on 67 minutes.
Ipswich took the lead on 74 minutes when following good build up play Sam Brandon slotted in from close range.
Ipswich now had the upper hand and scored their 3rd goal when the static Hadleigh defence were caught allowing Caolam Lavery to slot in from close range.
