Hadleigh's progression in this competition was put on hold once again as they succumbed to a strong Haverhill Rovers team at their excellent   " New Croft "  facilities.  For the record Hadleigh have not won an early round match since 1995.

Haverhill had a chance cleared from a crossed ball in the first minute, a Haverhill corner by Higgs was headed wide by Wardley.

Haverhill were awarded a free  kick on the edge of the area after 4 minutes , and for the second match running, Hadleigh's defence were caught fair and square as  Abbott ( M ), fired powerfully over the wall to beat the defence and diving keeper Aaron Benstead.

Hadleigh's Kris Rose then cleared for a corner Harper, before blocking a shot in from Harper from the flag kick.

Haverhill were now having most of the play with Hadleigh keeper Aaron Benstead gathering well from Harper, before a Hadleigh free kick from Keiren Joseph found Mark Powling who's touch found Simon Hyde with keeper Cutts gathering safely.

On 19 minutes a Haverhill free kick was floated into the danger area, but Aaron Benstead saved well under pressure.

On 23 minutes in a Haverhill attack, an defensive error between Kris Rose & Aaron Benstead saw  Cutts (C )  brought down just inside the area with  Stuart Wardley converting the resultant spot kick to give Haverhill a 2-0 advantage.

Haverhill then had most of the play in the remainder of the first half as Hadleigh rarely threatened, with Haverhill's keeper Cutts seeing little action.

Hadleigh changed their playing formation for the second half, which put Haverhill's defence under more pressure than in the first period.

Haverhill's Kingham headed clear from a Mark Powling free kick, before a quickly taken Hadleigh free kick found Craig Payne his cross into the area found Paul Hart to header in but was just wide.

A Hadleigh free kick from Warren Taylor -Holt  was headed clear by  Hunt , with Simon Hyde firing back in the loose ball with  Abbott ( P)  clearing as Hadleigh pressed.

Haverhill's Clarke shot goalbound with his first touch, with Aaron Benstead clearing, but the loose ball was fired back in with Hadleigh's defence scrambling the danger clear.Good forward play by Brett Girling, Ben Garnham , Kris Rose found Ollie Canfer with Haverhill's Wardley blocking tackle to deny him a shot in.

Hadleigh pulled a goal back on 67 minutes, when a Brett Girling ball into the area from the halfway line fell to Mark Powling to slot in from close range as Haverhill's defence attempted to clear. 

Hadleigh's Brett Girling's through ball found Ollie Canfer who's pass found Kris Rose to fire in a long range effort which Ben Garnham unable to control in the strong cross wind.

In the dying minutes Haverhill's Wardley saw a header in hit the cross bar following a free kick from Shipton.

A long range goalkick by Aaron Benstead found Simon Hyde to shot just wide as Hadleigh looked for the equaliser which never came to earn a replay, so its goodbye to the F.A. Cup Competition for another season
