28/07/2010 - Halstead Town appoint New Manager

With First team Manager Jody Brown having to step down due to health problems.

Halsyead Town have appointed Rob Munro  as First Team manger,  it is hoped Jody Brown will be able to assist him

26/07/2010 - Local Lad signs for Needham Market

Hadleigh based 18 year old  Jack Wilkinson has signed a two year contract with Needham Market and will be part of Danny Laws Ryman Division One League squad

Jack has been plaing for Needham Market Reserves and was named Team Player last season.

He has been in the Suffolk New College Football Developement Scheme which has links with Needham Market, another player on this scheme  Jack Severy ( 19 ) from Ipswich has also signed a two year contract with Needham.

Danny Laws has praised the boys attitude and also thanks Scheme Managers Lenny Pack & John Coupe along with Asst Manager  Kevin Horlock who is part of the Needham Market squad

22/07/2010 - More Ridgeons players move

More Ridgeons League players on the move include

Lewis Blois & Andy Key, both have left Kirkley & Pakefield to join Norwich United.   Blois a 28 year old left back has previously played at Diss, Dereham & mildenhall before joining K & P.    Key is a left sided striker who was previously with Diss & Wroxham, before joining K & P.

Lowestoft Town , have signed two ex Ridgeons League players.   Stuart Ainsley  22 year old midfielder has joined from Felixstowe & Walton , previously played at AFC Sudbury.   Ex Leiston player  25 year old Lee McGlone has also signed.

22/07/2010 - " Vuvuzelas " no ban yet !!!!

Whilst several Football League  Premiership  clubs are banning  " Vuvuzelas "  no decision has yet been made as to whether to ban them from the "Millfield "

The Committee I understand will be making a decision at their  next meeting, but this depends on consulations with

"  Brothers "     ' Elf  & 'Afety  !!! on the matter.

20/07/2010 - Halstead Manager takes a break

Jody Brown has stepped down as First Team Manager for the forseeable future

Jody who has been fighting an illness for the past year, thought this was improving, but it has not which has resulted him not being able to attend training as he would wish.

It is thought that Reserve Team Manager  Leon Woodford will take care of First Team matters

HADLEIGH UNITED  RESERVES will play BRANTHAM ATHLETIC  RESERVES in the first round of the Suffolk Senior Reserve Cup

MATCH DATE      Wednesday  8th September   7.45p.m kick-off

The  winners  of this match will be away to either  Felixstowe United or Melton St Audrys.

19/07/2010 - Ex Hadleigh player moves

Bradley Barber  who had a spell with Hadleigh in the 2008/09 season ,making 14 appearances  before joining Felixstowe & Walton, where he played until end of 2009/10 season.

Has now joined Needham Market

It looks like  Team Bury  are now without a Manager

Joint Manager   Dean Greygoose recent left to take up a position as Goalkeeping Coach at Histon

it now appears  the other joint manager  Neil  Reader has decided to leave

18/07/2010 - Tuesday night opponents lose/ Saturday opponents win

With two friendly fixture for Hadleigh's first team in this coming week.

Tuesday nights  opponents   Hullbridge Sports  ( at Hullbridge 8.00p.m) , saw them well beaten by Ryman Premier side  AFC Hornchurch  4-0

Meanwhile  this coming Saturday visitors  Soham Town Rangers   beat  United Counties Premier League side  Cogenhoe Utd  at their ground  3-1 last Saturday

Soham have seen two players leave after six years, Scott Johnson & Simon Flanz  have rejoined their old club Wisbech Town, as Wisbech look to strengthen after losing players to Kings Lynn
